Protecting life
The fight against aborting children presumed to be disabled, particularly those with Down’s syndrome, is another subject where he actively tries to challenge society. Jean Vanier does not judge. On numerous occasions he has spoken of the difficult situation of parents of children with a disability. Nonetheless, how could he, who has devoted his life to people living with intellectual disabilities, who finds strength and joy from living with them, how could he see this phenomenon without taking a position?
